I know I just sent a newsletter out a few days ago, but these openings hit my radar over the weekend and you need to know about them NOW. Some of these positions are scheduled to start in September and are short-term.

If you’re interested, put together a standout resume & cover letter and apply immediately.

Additional details have been added under each company listed below.

Remember, to apply for a position you’ll need to submit your application/resume directly with the company advertising the opening. You cannot apply for a job through my website.

Links for each employer can be found on the Job Resources page of www.AlaskaPipelineJobInfo.com Once on a company’s website look for a “jobs” or “career” link. When you find the position you're interested in, apply directly online with that company.

CH2M HILL
  • Inspector – Electrical Quality (short-term start in Sept.)
  • Inspector – Coating Quality (short-term start in Sept.)
  • Inspector – Mechanical Quality (short-term start in Sept.)
  • Washbay Laborer
  • Ironworker
  • Pipefitter

The 3 Inspector positions are short-term. From the looks of it you’d work one hitch, the duration of the project, approximately 6 weeks. These types of jobs usually pay a day rate (negotiable & lucrative) and you would be expected to work every day for a typical 12 hour shift.

As these inspector jobs require specialized skills & certifications, I’m confident that if you’re from out-of-state that they’d buy you 1 round trip ticket to get you to & from Anchorage. Your transportation from ANC to/from the slope is always provided by your employer.

It can be difficult for companies to find qualified, available inspectors in ANC on such short notice. If you do indeed have all of the qualifications asked for in the posting then apply immediately

I recently read that Eni is going to ramp up their Nikaitchuq onshore/offshore development this winter with the intention of producing first oil in 2010. This flight attendant contract position could be with Eni/Pioneer. These two companies partnered previously to provide transportation to the slope for their workers, flying in and out of Kuparuk.

ESS ALASKA SUPPORT SERVICES
  • Head Cook (short-term)
  • Prep Cook (short-term)

Must have two years remote cooking experience Rotations are 4 weeks on 2 week off or 2 weeks on 1 week off.

These are temporary position to start, with lots of permanent possibilities for the future. Positions start at 43k a year for Head Cooks and 32k a year for Prep Cooks. Please e-mail resume to jobs@ess-worldwide.com or call 800-478-1207. All applicants must past pre-employment back ground check, physical and drug screen.

ESS doesn’t say this in the ad above, but they are looking to hire only Alaska residents. Why do I say this? In past conversations with their recruiter she let me know that they prefer to hire in-state. If you live in the lower 48 you must provide your own transportation to/from Anchorage.

The recruiter also said that finding cooks with remote work experience can be difficult. My advice is, even if you live outside, if you have 2 years of remote Head/Prep Cook experience then send them a resume.
