North Slope Jobs – Materials, HSE, Craft Supervisors, Fire & Gas, Admins, Elec/Mech, Piping... January 31, 2010 |
| Hi, I got an email from a reader asking, "How recent are the job postings in your newsletter?" Well, I usually dedicate a particular day for putting together the North Slope Insider. I'll search for openings that afternoon and then send the newsletter out that night. Sometimes I run out of time and the North Slope Insider won't get mailed out until the next day. At the most, the gap between searching for jobs and sending out the letter is 48 hours. But, the majority of the time everything is completed in one day. I don't have any control over companies that don't remove old postings from their websites. If a job has been listed for a long time and I suspect that the position has been filled, I'll stop including it in the newsletter. When I search for jobs I use the links off of my Job Resources page. This way I can verify that the links still work and check to see if there have been any changes to the company websites. I don't use a secret formula to find these openings – everything that I'm doing, you can do too. Jobs come and go in-between editions of the Insider. If you've familiarized yourself with the companies and have a good idea of the ones most likely to offer the kind of work you're interested in, then you'll want to check their websites at least weekly. Hope that answers your question! Now, in my last newsletter I included a link to the new UNION JOB INFO page on my website – but the link was broken. It worked in my test mode but did not work when I sent out the newsletter. Argh. Here's the fixed link: UNION JOB INFO Remember, to apply for a position you’ll need to submit your application/résumé directly with the company advertising the opening. You cannot apply for a job through my website.
If asked where you heard about a job opening, please mention my website. Thanks!
Links for each employer can be found on the Job Resources page of
www.AlaskaPipelineJobInfo.com Once on a company’s website look for a “jobs” or “career” link. When you find the position you're interested in, apply directly online with that company. ACUREN
ADAMS & ASSOCIATES
Adams & Associates has this position listed under Anchorage, but when you read the posting it says: These are long term positions with excellent opportunity for advancement in Horseheads, NY and Weston, WV.
I called and spoke with William, who said that these positions are listed under Anchorage because the ANC office has the contract to recruit for Wireline Operators. These jobs are located in NY and WV. Relocation is not provided. While experience is preferred it is not required. These positions are long-term and come with benefits. See the posting for additional details.
